Power issue resolved, then bad-boot issue. Beautiful husband fixed system after bad boot. All is right with the world (for now - *knock wood*).

Hi, just a quick question, i'm getting SQL fatal errors when i try to access squidge wwomb stories, and when i went through the main wwomb page it says that it's down. When will WWOMB be back up again? Is it down every single week until thursday like you said in a previous post? i would check out the static site, but none of the stories i'm looking for are up there. What is the difference between the main site and the static site? thanks for your time, and thank you so much for maintaining squidge! it's the best.

If it is a problem I can fix remotely, I do. However, it does happen on occasion that I have to let it stick until I get home and manually kick the server. :) It does seem like we've had more problems lately, but some are unavoidable. We live in a rural area (though we have FIOS - go figure!) so power is sometimes a problem. It's usually just an hour or so, and the UPS system we have maintains the servers so that it's usually unseen to end users. When I'm gone and there's a problem, usually Patrick (the hubby) can take care of it. However, there *are* the occasions when it just dumbfounds the both of us. Once it was a short in the KVM switch (one KVM switch for one keyboard, video, and mouse that works for 4 different servers) that took out everything. WEIRD. In those cases, yes, it will wait until I'm home which is Thursday afternoon. I get to working on it, and then get it back into production.
