Squidge is upgraded and done!
Jan. 1st, 2007 12:14 amI've upgraded the OS on Squidge. Everything's upgraded and turned on and working. A few notes:
1) The webserver wasn't configured at first when it restarted. It was shut down and reconfigured. However, there was a problem with PHP pages (most of the archives use PHP) and it wouldn't post the pages properly. I fixed that around 11PM.
2) The mailserver barfed when I brought it up. I had to massage it and it worked an hour later.
3) The IRC server now supports usernames up to 29 characters.
The new homepage is being developed, and the helpdesk system is being evaluated.

Date: 2007-01-01 07:20 pm (UTC)Issues experienced in mIRC under Windows XP:
- auto-rejoin of channel with key produces error message "wrong channel key" (was able to rejoin manually with the same key)
- false and frequent "notify" messages (ie, repeated messages that "X has left IRC/X is on IRC" when X has not gone anywhere), as seen here:
(Cesca had not left IRC at all anytime during this conversation.)
Issues experienced in Snak on Mac under OS X 10.4.8:
- unable to join locked channel manually or otherwise.
- false message to the user that she was logged into the server when she wasn't.
