Outage planned for this weekend
Jan. 17th, 2008 07:38 amAll,
The last power outage (only a short blip 2 weeks ago - didn't even merit any notice from anyone to ask what was up!) proved fruitful in that it showed me one of the UPS' (the emergency backup power used during an outage) was dead. The "Replace Battery" light never came on, but the unit failed bigtime. Anyway, I picked up two new UPS units last weekend, and will be putting them into service this weekend. I'm thinking they will go in this Saturday, but do not have a time down yet. Total downtime will be no more than 20 minutes.

Date: 2008-01-17 06:05 pm (UTC)From this stuff on the back end to Peja taking care of my emails about *stupid* stuff...lol...
I wish that businesses would take care of their paying customers half as well as you all do.
On another note - my husband is a network engineer, when we had really powerful thunderstorms roll through here last summer they lost power in the computer room and found that their primary (think refrigerator size) back up power didn't kick in and the backup croaked after being under load for only a minute or so. Needless to say, none of their servers liked that very much. He spent a lot of late nights restoring stuff.
Hope the swap out goes well!
