For the last week or so, we've noticed a large influx of new people on our Images server. Whereas we would normally get a new user every other day or so, we're sometimes getting dozens an hour - and that's okay! The image server that Squidge.org has in place is here for that use. Due to the influx, we'll be looking to see if we need to move to a more powerful server or such.

The only real thing to remember with the image servers is to blur your NSFW images, though if it impacts how it displays on your remote site, then it's okay not to. I've been talking to the developer about getting an option that individual users can tick to keep their images (NSFW or not) out of the "Recent Images" section. But until that time, remember if you hit up the "Recent Images" section of the server, there's the possibility of seeing explicit images.

And finally, Imgur was used by many, many people for many, many services. But Squidge.org image hosting should be for fandom use - either fandom images or personal image hosting for people in fandom. It's not here for commercial use (I booted that person rather quickly) for the fandom community. Let's keep it that way!

*eyes NoScript, uBlock Origin, and Privacy Badger* somebody is lying to me about whether something on the images dot squidge contact page is being blocked, I can tell because zero extensions are admitting to blocking anything on that page, yet all I am seeing is the navigation bar up top and a whole bunch of blank whiteness

might Gmail be preventing Squidge emails from getting even as far as my spambox? bc I signed up for the image hosting about 26 hours ago, resent the confirmation email about an hour ago, and still nothing

if so, is there a way I can change the email on that username, so the confirmation email can go to my Proton account instead? it's this same username

Would the server overload be why I haven't gotten any email to confirm my account creation? I tried yesterday and today as well, checked all possible filters and nothing came...and when i tried to use the contact page the page was entirely blank. Inspecting it says there's a form there but it doesn't show up for me....

No; it's either in your Spam folder or possibly there's something misconfigured somewhere. Please PM me your username and/or email address and I'll check it out for you.

I've been seeing the PSA posts going around Tumblr and now Mastodon, and I'm glad that the servers are holding up! I hope that continues to be the case!

Apologies if this is already stated somewhere and I missed it, but do you have any donation/fundraising points where we could kick in some funding if needed for new servers?

Almost, but not quite ready! We got our IRS 501c3 status finally, but our donation platform is taking forever to finalize everything. Once it does, we'll officially be a non-profit and can accept donations! :)
